Savage Lake is a state fishing access site located in northwest Montana. Fishing and boating may be enjoyed on the lake. This is a day use area only. A relatively warm lake nestled beneath the Cabinet Mountains, it provides a comfortable experience for boating and fishing. The access point is located along the east side of the highway, about midway along the west shore of the lake. A beautiful wetland filled with waterfowl, osprey, moose and the occasional mountain loin.
Lakeside residents tout the view of a waterfall emerging from the mountains. With a short tip through the wonderful wetlands you can walk right to the falls. If are as over come by the beauty of this place as I am, there is even a trail straight up the mountain to see the top of the falls.
